August 18th from 5 to 7pm. Our 2nd rodeo is schedule at the conclusion of our Rodeo Camp so that our campers have an opportunity to put their new learnings to the test as they compete with each other as well as themselves. We will have pole bending, barrel racing, keyhole, cut back and a 50 yard dash. There will be three age divisions; junior, senior and adult with first, second and third place recognition and all first place winners will receive a cash prize. The ground fee is $10 per horse and an entry fee of $5 for each event you with to participate in. Coggins forms are required. Please register by August 14th.
Pony Day Camp
August 7th to 10th from 9am to 3pm. Our 2nd Pony Day Camp for the summer is set to be a very exciting and educational week! Brandy Norris will be sharing her equine knowledge and experiences so that by the end of the week all of the campers will be right at home in a horse barn. She will be instructing them on proper attire, barn manners, stall cleaning, sweeping of isles, leading a horse and where to stand while being a handler, the ins & outs of a grooming kit, the proper way to groom, tacking up/ untacking a horse, mounting, dismounting, knots, bathing kit, proper way to bath (a horse), parts of the bridle, parts of the saddle, cleaning both bridle and saddle, and fairs of the horse. As camp starts each camper will be assigned a horse and they will be responsible for tending to that horse all week.
August 14th to 18th daily from 9am to 3pm. We are very excited to be hosting an action pack week of Rodeo Camp! Campers will be engaged in perfecting a particular discipline as well as have an opportunity to experience and learning new ones. Each day will be dedicated to learning a specific discipline. Our cowgirls and cowboys will start the week learning the in's and out's of poles, As the week progresses we then move to barrels, keyhole, cut back and the 50 yard dash. Naturally, repetition is life's teacher so each cowgirl and cowboy will have the opportunity to critique and follow up on the previous day's lessons. Each child will need to bring their own horse along with a recent coggins test results. For your convenience horses can be boarded for the week at H&P. Each child must bring a packed lunch. Drinks and snacks will be provided. Please register by August 7th.
Horse Boarding, Training and Riding Lessons
Bloss's Natural Horsemanship Trail Ride Clinic
August 20th at 1pm. Bloss's Natural Horsemanship will be holding a two hour trail riding clinic. The clinic will begin in our indoor arena. The initial ride will be on our beautiful trails. David will give equal attention to five individuals. The clinic is $90.00 each for the five individuals participating in the clinic. Auditors are welcome during the indoor lesson at a charge of $30.00 per person. Auditors are welcome on the trail ride. You must bring your own horse and tack to participate and all horses must be up to date on vaccines and have proof of coggins.
